How do YOU run a BRAVO system with the sterndrive removed

1993 270 Chaparral w. 7.4 Bravo 1 Drive

I've removed my sterndrive and I need to run my engine. I was thinking of rigging up a hose that ended with a barbed hose fitting as pictured that would go into the Bravo water hose at the Gimbal housing as pictured. Is there a better way? I plan on doing this as a one man operation (boat owners are lonely people) and would be at the helm trusting that the fitting doesn't fall out.

How do YOU run a sterndrive fed BRAVO engine when the sterndrive is off?

(If you use a barbed hose fitting, what size is it..5/8'? 3/4"?)

Ayuh,..... If it's any easier to get too,... I'd do what yer gonna do, at the raw water pump hose, inside the hull,.....
