Basically bought all the equip. and manuals from a Merc dealer that was retiring and was thinking about starting up my own part time garage outboard shop and actually charge people money:eek::confused:, trouble is i am not exactly sure how to use all these tools and meters. Is this stuff even used on the new 2010 outboards? Does anybody recognise any of the electrical boxes?

The coil tester ( big box)needs a new batt. do they make them anymore?

I know its kind of a big undertaking and the wrong time of year but It will give me some time to organize and set up, also it will give me time to see if its even worth it

Um, how are you going to go about fixing something you know nothing about? Have you had any training on marine engines?

Hey Moody, no formal training per say on marine engines but from what i can see by working on these they aren't to terribly difficult, the hardest part is having the right tool and book:redface: Hey its worth a shot!, i wont be able to charge $90.00 an hr and will probably have some real junker projects to start, I'll go easy at first but there is a ton of boats around here especially in the summer and besides you dont need no stinken license anyway.
