Looks like you will have to put some sort of mounting plate up on the bow?

Can't see up there on the foto.......it's tough to unfold the things unless they are mounted and the prop end is ready to drop down.
Something about crazy geometrey, laws of gravity... or kinetics or other vague properties of nature!!!!

I feel confident, once you get it mounted, and you do the push pull thing as seen on the instructions......bingo.....success!!!!!

Good luck

( by the way, and out of blind curiosity...what are you doing burning matches inside the boat....damn bowl hard to fire up)?

Looks like one of the PowerDrive models. If I remember correctly there is also a lever that you have to press so you can put the motor in and out of the water. The lever is in the second picture.

Release the lever, pull the trolling motor up and after the motor is laying flat, slide the thumb-screw clamp down the shaft and tighten it in the slot by the trolling motor clamp.

Deploy:
1) Pull the release lever as shown on the decal.
2) Slide the motor forward and let it pivot down.
3) Adjust the steering colar on the motor shaft for the depth you want the motor to operate at.
4) That same color is what turns the motor for steering so make sure the slots line up with the steering motor.

Stowing:
1) Push down on the lever (unmarked in the diagram) but it is just ahead of the arrow.
2) Grasp the head of the troller and pivot it toward you and slide the motor back until the release latch catches.

MAKE SURE THE MOTOR IS TURNED OFF DURING DEPLOY AND STOWING!

You do not need a quick release plate to mount the motor although one is recommended so you can quickly remove the motor for security and travel if desired. Remove the side panels to locate the mounting holes.
