I have a 35 hp mercury made in 1985. I have it on a party barge that is 20 feet long. The barge is not that heavy {dont know exact weight} . The motor is running good, but I don't think it is really running to its potential. It isn't singing to me at full throttle. If I push the the throttle all the way the motor kind of dies out a little. What is out of adjustment, or what do I need to check?
I appreiciate the help, Tim

H, My guess is possible sync problem timing may be advancing too far.
Your 35 on a 20ft pontoon will have a tough time making 20mph.You need to confirm max rpm.
Pontoons for the most part go through the water not over it.Thats hard to push.
But you have all kinds of things you can do with a toon. Make a camper comeplete with running water and a head.Set it up like your patio
with a charcoal grill table, even a patio glider.
The skys the limit.

How about an anchor? That is what I've considered. No, really I enjoy the pontoon boat. I have been use to running 55 mph in my bass boat, the slow speed of a pontoon boat is like a slow ride up an escalator. My remote has no place on the front of it for a tach, so how do I test the rpm. Thanks Tim
