How hard is it to switch out a set of gauges?

I have a 1996 Harris-Kayot Ultima 2000 deckboat with Merc 5.7 V8 Alpha I drive. The glass on the tachometer got broken (kids?!) and I've been looking to replace it. Seems difficult to find a tach that matches the rest of the instruments, so I'm asking how hard it is to switch them all out? I've only been a boater 1 year and a mechanical novice. Is it just a matter of pulling the old out and plugging the new in? How are those things secured in there anyway?

Thanks for any help. I know some will say it's silly to replace them all, but having one gauge different from the rest will drive the OCD side of me a little nuts!

its very easy to switch em, if you can get behind for a look you will see that they are clamped in by a u shaped bar normally connected to the center of each diall by a nut, remove the nut and the bar pops off just a matter of unhooking the wiring and the guage just pops out...

Like he said, peace of cake.

Just make sure to label the wires so's you don't out them back on the wrong gauge.

take your time and only do one at a time so as not to confuse the wiring process, good luck.
