my 1990 120hp motor has some mounts broken...i been running it with them broken.,...hadnt had any problems... but the last two time i have taken it out... when i take off from a dead stop at WOT....i am hearing a couple of "clunk" sounds..then once it gets on plane its fine....am i correct to say this is those mounts making that noise?

#10 in both pictures are the mounts i am talking about..... the second pic(in the link).. the "stop deflection" is not broken it just same that the rubber fell off or something(did it have rubber on it???)

how hard would it be to replace this part...best place to buy it? mercury or ebay? aftermarket?

You might be able to get the top one without removing the powerhead.

The bottom one is a bit more involved. Not gonna be fun.

motor mount #10?
powerhead stays attached to motor leg and cowling pan. But swivel bracket and swivel kingpin have to come out. You could probably support the engine and do it on boat. It would probably be easier to pull the engine.

If you run this boat in salt water and decide to undertake replacing mount #10. Then get a piece of 1.125" diameter solid industrial aluminum round bar. machine shops should be able to get you one for under $10 each. Replace the swivel kingpin with it and you'll significantly reduce your galvanic corrosion - which protects your engine and keeps you steering silky smooth.

It's not as hard as it looks, I removed my powerhead in under 2 hours with just hand tools. If you have a force service manual, it takes you thru all the steps. If not, Sea Tow has a great package at $119. Better safe out on the water than sorry.
