Well guys, I got the kiekahefer 58a back on the water today with the new timing belt and a different lower unit. The engine was spitting out some water like it should, but how much water should it spit out and how hot should the engine get? I could touch the top of the block, but I couldn't hold my hand there for more than 2 or 3 seconds, so I thought maybe it had quit circulating water. So we put it in gear and started driving while I watched, and it was still spitting out a little water like it should. So I touched the water coming out and to my surprise it was pretty hot. Is all of this norma? Before I put the different lower unit on, I looked at the impellor and it looked really good. I am just wanting some input before I let the engine get too hot. Granted, it was 92 degrees here in iowa today and we were pulling a skiier.
