How is gel coat applied?

Paint rollers and foam brushes don't work. Sponges fall apart. What do you apply gel coat with?

I did a topper and the paint roller left some fuzz, but not very noticable. It might need a second coat so maybe a light sanding will take care of that problem.

Thanks.

Some people roll it and tip it with a brush. You may need to comb the roller pad to get all the fuzz out. Others spray it with a gun too.

Try a roller that is solvent resistant. Use a Glasskoter made by Corona. They are available in different naps. The shorter the nap, the smoother the finish. Also gelcoat doesn't lay down smooth because it's thick. With a roller you will still have stipple or roller texture. If it is sprayed you will get orange peel that will need to be sanded smooth then buffed out to shine.
