If we look at how the problems in the middle East began, maybe there is a solution to be found. <br /><br />Deuteronomy 7: Whe the Lord thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and Girga****es, and the Amorites, and the Cannanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;<br /><br />And when the Lord thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor show any mercy unto them"<br /><br />Well, Israel had mercy upon the those that lived in the land given to them, and left remnaints of the enemies of God which multiplied and have been stumbleing blocks to Israel since the last days of Moses. <br /><br />So, how can peace be "restored" to the middle East? It can't be "restored" because there has no been peace there since Cain murdered Abel. But can peace be established? According to God, the only wayis to kill every man, woman and child of the Arabs, destroy their cities and obliterateall traces of thier religious practices from the face of the Earth.<br /><br />Sounds extreme, but it God is an extreme God; extreme in his mercy, extreme in his wrath, extreme in his love for his children, extreme in his judgement.<br /><br />And for those who say that the God of Islam is the God of Abraham, you are wrong. Allah is the Moon God, and he is married to the Sun God. They believe that while Jesus, Moses David and several other Hebrews were prophets, Muhammed was the greatest prophet. Islamic law stipulates that to fulfill Muhammad's task, every infidel domain must be considered a territory of war. The fundamentalist Muslims must destroy all infidels and rule Israel, o Muhammed is a false prophet.<br /><br />So, think God knew what He was talking about when He commanded the Israelites to destroy those whose decendants are now a huge pain in the worlds buttocks? Is it too late to finish the job??

The extremist muslims say the same thing about "god of isreal" <br /><br />And therein lies the problem.<br /><br />I'm not going to comment on this one any further. I've learned it is very hard to reason with people with extreme religious convictions.

A higher power should be powerfull enough to do his own killing. I'm a Christian, and I'll kill for my freedom to worship, and that of my nieghbors. Also, I'll kill to protect myself or my nieghbors. It has little to do with my God, except for what I face from him.<br />To kill in the name of a higher power is self-serving and perverse!

Hey, I'm just quoting text here, and Jgreg is right, as Christians it is our duty to conquer the world thruogh the love of Christ. As muslims, it is thier duty to conquer the world through destruction of their enemies. The world would be a much nicer place (IMHO) if the Isralite had follow God's command and wiped the arabs out in the first place, them we wouldn't have put up with them now.

NoSleep, get some rest. It isn't an interpretation of the scriptures, that is what God commanded Israel to do. It's clearly outlined in Dueteronomy, and the resulting problems of NOT having carried out Gods Command are very clearly covered in Joshua, Judges, 1Sam, 2Sam etc. If your gonna comment on this, at least do it in an intelligent manner.

Those are inventions of man.<br /><br />Everything in the Bible, Talmud, Torah and other books of religious instruction and history is the word of MAN, interpreted and translated by MEN who claim it is devine revelation.<br /><br />Many years ago, when I lived in Memphis, there was a controversy about teaching foreign languages in schools. One woman spoke at a school board meeting, explaining that she had learned to read by reading the Bible. She went on to explain a lot more that she had learned there. Her closing remark was:<br /><br />"I learned everything I need to know from the Bible, and if English is good enough for Jesus Christ, it is good enough for my children."

Ok mellowyellow I understand your point and had to ask the same questions many a time but after studieing in the Bible for a few years and ask those who I feel have superior knowledge on the Bible, I learned that what God commanded the Jews to do so many years ago was to root out the evil among them and to let any of it survive it would come back and become part of their culture and effectivly cause thenm to fall away from God and lose there God given Land. Now in the new testement ( which is a new covenent between man and God) Jesus comands us to turn the other cheek and to love our enemies. Some may think this is contradictory, I think The jews let the cat out of the bag and now it would be imposable to put it back so it must be dealt with differently.<br />your post to me is quite wrong and to call me "like a suicide bomber" is well rude and not very well thought out . Its not like you ever have posted violent thoughts or wants on here before right Mellowyellow. Oh im sorry mellowyellow you have more posts than I so your Ideas of what is fair are problly right and your opinions mean more than mine and........well no use in argueing with you about what the Bible says But I am all American here and find it increadably insulting you would compare me to a low life coward suicide bomber.
