How long can you leave a boat in saltwater without treating the hull before stuff starts to grow on it??

two weeks befor it comes hard to get off, I will tell you that Interlux Mircon XL with Bilux is the best anti foul paint you can get, it is called soft paint because it leaves no paint build up through the years. and it can be stored on a trailer without it coming off AND! it can be stored dry for ever most soft paint can only be painted on a boat and stored dry for 2 months!

Good Luck!!!

Arnold - Alot depends on where you are. I live in Miami and go to the Fla Keys every now and again. There are places where you can leave your boat in the water for a couple of weeks and get no noticable growth. I have been to places though that if you run your hand over the hull under water that it will feel like sandpaper from new barnicles after a couple of days.

My experience has been the same as SoLittle's. In the Gulf of Mexico, my boat has been as long as a week with no sign of build-up. In brackish salt water, however, it only goes a couple of days before you have to start scrubbing it off. If you end your trip in fresh water [up a river, for example] it will go indefinitely without buildup.
