how long can a boat sit around

I saw a boat in a store reduced. They said it was about 3 years old. Im wondering what effect sitting in a store for 3 years would have on the material and if I should buy it?

Lots depends on how it was stored. But all you can do is look It over very good and test drive it. The water pump hates to be left for a long time. If it was put away wet is a bad thing too. But again, a good going over and a test drive will at least give you a starting point on the price war. Good luck.
