Haven't had a chance to use my boat much this year. Pennzoil Synthetic Blend in on baord reserve tank for 2-stroke 150 is approaching 2 years. Is there "shelf life" on the oil. Danger in using older oil? Should I pump out a refresh with fresh? How about pump out 1/2 and replace with fresh. Guessing reserve tank holds approx. 2 gal>

Just use it,oil don't go bad like the new fuel. Unless it's 20+ years old then" maby" it'll go south.

One thing you might need to be concerned about is water or dirt, etc. getting into the reservoir over time. Couldn't hurt to drain the oil into a clean container, inspect the tank and clean it out if necessary. At least you'd be assured that all is well.

There are no reserve tanks

there are remote tanks that feed oil to the motor tank,
if that is what you are speaking about, than drain into clean vessel and inspect as you have been told.

Not not mix bad with good oil

Thanks all for your input. Thanks also for the correction on the description of the tank. I was referring to the "remote" tank mounted in the boat.
