How Long Do I Charge

I have 2 new deep cycle batteries hooked in parallel. My charger is a 2amp/10amp/55amp with an amp gauge built in. It doesnt say automatic but the charging amp gauge goes down as the batteries are charging. Does this mean its an "automatic" ? What setting and how long should I charge them, dont want to damage them?<br /><br />Thank you

The Automatic chargers are set for charging a single battery. If you try to charge 2 in parallel it will never shut off.<br /><br />Follow battery maker's instructions for charging.<br /><br />Get a hydrometer. Charge until it says the battery is fully charged... most accurate way to do it without an expensive loading tester.

Thanks JB<br /><br />I just bought an automatic 24 volt charger on ebay...cheap $30 hope that sovles my charging concerns. Its just a real pain in the butt to disconnect my trolling batteries after each use. They are under the bow deck.
