How long does it take for 78 evinrude 9.9 to pee first start of season?

Just started my rude on muffs and didn't see water coming out within 15 seconds so I shut it off, does it take a while ?

Run a piece of weed whacker line up the pee hole; insect probably has it clogged. My 15 pees immediately. Good luck

I cleaned it out a bunch with weed wacker string, I did it once, still no good, that's when I posted the question, I got a long string and twisted and jammed And now it works, thanks for the help. Do u carry any spare parts on your boat for your outboard?

I always carry a piece of weed wacker line a screwdriver pliers and a spare primer bulb.

About the only thing/s one may carry for a 9.9 is a prop drive pin and maybe some new plugs. If you're going off shore, whole tool box and every perishable part.

Don't want this to sound wrong, but, you shouldn't be going off shore with a 9.9, right?
