kind of a crazy question but have to ask again new to boating so please be patient> ,anyway will a outboard (140 johnson) run hotter on muff`s hooked to a hose than it normally would out on the water?? My motor seem`s to want to run hot after about 10 min on idle when hooked up to the hose I don`t have a numerical guage just a guage with blue on bottom then green from above the blue at the top it is red it is about 3/4 up the green. It has not overheated , I know the hot alarm work`s but a friend said it will normally run hotter on a hose and muff`s than in the water, don`t know but figured I would ask before I drop her in still kinda cold here and don`t want to get stuck, new pump and thermostat`s ,.
