I'm talking as in parents, brothers and sisters. There are five "kids" in my family and every one owns a boat. The range is from 19 to 24 feet all trailer-able. The type of craft include a,bow rider, a deck boat, a cabin cruiser (all Fiberglass) a Lowe fish n ski and a pontoon, The last two being aluminum. Mom and Dad also had a pontoon, but Mom let it go several years after Dad passed. She is now officially a tag along LOL.

Re: How many boaters/boats in your family

Since Dad has passed, Mom is the "tag along" now. Oldest brother has a pontoon, a jet boat, a PWC, a paddle boat, a sunfish sailboat, and a couple of kayaks (lives on a lake). Middle brother has a pontoon, a runabout, and a PWC, plus the different ones that go through his hands (buys, fixes, and sells) each year (He works for a Marina/boat dealer). Myself, well, I only have the bass boat and the Dual Console, but will be looking to sell the bass boat this spring.

So, Mom and Dad taught us well. We basically grew up on a lake in the summers and generally had 4 boats at any given time (runabout, pontoon, 12 foot tinny, and a 12 foot "glass bottom" jonboat).

2 of my 4 sisters own boats:

Youngest has a sailboat (her husband bought it as a basket case and restored it) and a little trihull boat for running around the bay where they live in NC.

Oldest has a 30' cruiser and a RIB.

I only have the one boat right now; am looking for a second (not very hard, but if anyone knows of a decent Hobie Cat please let me know).

Only 1 boat (a bass boat) out of the next generation (my sisters' 13 grown kids) so evidently each generation gets a little smarter than their parents. ;)

I'm the only one in my parents family of 10 that owns a boat.

I think I was switched at birth to a non boating family.

My family of 2 poptart girls love boating when they have time for it.

Grandfather - sold his Tri-hull boat about 8 years ago that he had since the 70's and that I and many of my relatives learned how to ski on. Apparently he still uses his Jet-ski and he is over 90 years old 0_0

Father - Went from a Sunfish sailboat to a 22ft Catalina sailboat, sold it about 6 years ago and last fall he purchased a 23ft Regal.

Self - Maxum 1900 SC (cuddy)

Cousin and Uncle - They both owned bass boats, I don't know if they still own them.

I also have many other distant relatives that own boats, but I haven't spoken to them in years as i am up in NY and they are in TX.
