Re: How many cans of spray paint for outboard?
Ya, a coat of clear will gloss it alittle but Krylon isn't the greatest paint.
Try a small out of the way place first to see if you are going to get a reaction, some paints don't like each other.
I don't think that paint is intended to be sanded between coats like a base coat or auto single stage is.
The reason mine is so glossy is because I used auto paint and clear and then sanded and buffed it,I'm that way ya know.
So if you want it really glossy hit it with a couple coats of clear, let it set good between coats, and wet sand it with 2000 grit sand paper and some finish buffing compound and it will shine.
Your base paint really doesn't matter the clear will make it pop, base coat before it is cleared is actually a matte finish but as soon as that clear hits it it pops.
The difference between a $300 paint job and a $3000 paint job is about 100 hours, everything else is the same.
