Just got a 25' CC 2002 end of last season. Used it sor the fall striper season. Will be taking it off-shore this spring to do some sharking. Later in the season hunting for tuna. Anyone own a 25' Pro-line that they ventured out. Looking for Pro & Cons.
Thanks, Dead Eye

Re: How many owners? opinions !

Last May I bought a used 21' Proline Cuddy/walk w/ 150Hp Merc outboard and believe me it is a rocket on the open ocean. Yesterday I took a recon-order trip from San Diego to Ensenada Mexico ~ 60 miles with one stop in a town called Las Salina. The ocean was like glass on the way down but a wind chop was growing on the return trip w/ a growing swell. Stayed dry the enite trip. My neighbor was my first mate and he owns a 20' Blackman center console was amazed at how dry the boat is and how comfortable a ride it was considering the size of the vessel and the wind chop. All I can say is Proline makes a fine ocean vessel and highly recommend Proline.

For the record the vessel was $27k new back in 99' w/ a trailer and bimini, previous owner is a good friend and gave me all of the original paper work.

I own a 1993 ProLine 190 and so far it has been a good boat. It is a little smaller than what I was looking for but it was affordable for me and it does what I need it to do 99% of the time. It also runs a 150 and will hit 50+ with the right prop. It works very well for my style of fishing and does a good job entertaining the family as well.

The build is solid but I don't like the storage layout. The area under the bow is the fish box but it seems they could have used a double hatch set-up instead of a single and gotten more useable space out of her. The console is very wide compared to most I've seen and I liked that at first- now I'd rather have a narrower console with side rod racks. The console is so wide that if I put racks on the side it would make it difficult to walk forward without catching the rods. I love the fact that a 19 footer has an anchor locker with space for a big anchor and plenty of rope. I like the gunwale rod storage areas and the baitwell. I like the lines of the boat and the open bow railing. I like the sixe of the console on top where I have two radios, my depth finder, my compass, my GPS AND some assorted other stuff.

ProLine has also been very helpful to me over the past few years even though I'm not the original owner. They take care of their owners it seems.

I'd buy another provided I could find a 21 or 23 footer somewhere I could afford.
UFM82

Got cabin feever. Having a boat lift put in in O.C. Md. Can't get fishing for about another month. Although the lift will extend the life of the boat(i hope)
Dead Eye

For what it's worth, I have a 1994, 260 WA cuddy that I take off-shore a lot. I bought the boat a few years back and really didn't know too much about Proline, but I sure lucked out getting this boat. I routinely hit the gas/oil rigs about 45-55 miles from the MS gulf coast and my boat has never failed me...even when caught in a few strong storms (should have check the wx closer before going out). Those times I did get caught in bad wx gave me enormous confidence in the seaworthiness of this brand, although I wouldn't do it again if given the chance. These boats are built for the long haul and the company seems to take care of it's new and used owners. For that reason they hold their value and are excellent choices for re-powering. That's what I plan to do with mine in a few years...twin carbureted 2-strokes are way too thirsty...a couple of Evenrude E-tec 150's would be my choice!
