toomanyboats <br /><br />I'm from the Inland Empire.<br /><br />Usally go to Mohave and Mead.<br /><br />Day trips to Lake Perris. It is crowded there too. Many PWC's. They normally circle the island in the east end. Can avoid them by skiing by the **** on the west end.

the last time we went out my buddie suggested something that i believe is a stellar idea. An I.Q. test for boat ownership. that day we waited (this is not an exageration now)3hrs. before we could get my boat off the lake. there were maybe 15 people before us. Thats about 12 min. per boat. Does anyone else see this as ridiculous.

I see it as a dire need for a few more boatramps . I usually launch my boat at<br />the least popular, furtherest ramp I can find.<br />1300 boats were sold here last year alone (Denver) there are approx. 3 or 4 lakes in the area you can boat on (all under 2,000 surface <br />acres each). If you go out on any given weekend, and are lucky enough to get out early, either get off the lake before noon, or plan on spending the day. between people putting their boats in, people taking their boats out all on the same ramps, I'd say that at least 7-8 min average.<br />Back down the ramp when it's safe to do so, launch your boat, tie it up, drive to the parking lot, (find a place to park) go back to the boat, fire her up for 30 sec. or so, untie, on your way. . This is all based on the fact that everyone in front of you is prepared, can launch or get their boat loaded without any problems, and doesn't have any mechanical problems, multiply that by an estimated 1300 new boat (some first time) owners, and your ready to take up bowling.

Ask the officials about the lack of ramps and if they are honest they will tell you why they don't put in more.....it's to limit the # of boats on the water.<br />It's an intentional bottleneck.

ok I see the point of having an intentional bottle neck to limit boats, but the lake i go to won't let any more than 70 boats on it per day anyways. unfortunatly the problem isn't the ramp it is very much the people using it. We get these monkeys out here that have too much money on their hands, so they go out and buy these brand new 40g boats and can't even get them in or out of the water properly. then they have they audasity to assume that they always have the right of way on the water, and can just cut you off at random . I'm sorry now i'm ranting but it just gets me steamed.
