I am currently running a 90 hp johnny on a 19ft alum boat,which correlates to about 35-37 mph.How much difference would a 112 spl make,top end,,,hole shot etc.Are the 112s a good motor,,do not mind mixing gas,do that already.My brother has a 17ft glass boat,and he is running mid 40's with a 1995 Rude 115. Are the 112s and the 115s basically the same motor,without the oil injection.Any and all info much appreciated.
But you also want to see if your boat can handle it. There should be a Yellow, square plate that tells you how much horsepower the boat can handle. 25 extra hp will give you at least 5 mph extra and you will have better fuel economy at cruise.
