How much do I remove to replace spark plugs?

I want to replace my plugs but can't seem to get at them without 1) removal of a ton of the forward transom, seating and engine bay cover or 2)use a articulating wratchet neck (which I've read is a no-no on plugs).

Anyone here replaced plugs on a boat like mine and have any slick tricks? Here's a photo of what my engine looks like (Its a phot from an ad I pulled from the internet). See my sig line for boat type.

Thanks in advance.

Shouldn't have to remove anything but the plug wire off the plug.
Plenty of room to get to them from the front.

Thanks Don for the quick reply. Yeah, I'm not planning on replacing from the rear; I'd be doing it from inside the boat for sure. It's just the exhaust risers seem to be in the way and the fixed rear seats are high up on the engine and I'm not able to see all plug wires/ plugs.

Without the right ratchet you might have to R&R the riser and the manifold. Its a PITA but will only take you about an hour.

I meant from the front of the engine, reaching under the manifolds.

Well I guess that's one way to get more "personal" with my engine. So far, my wrenching has been limited to fluid and impeller replacements. My knuckles are always so scraped up after just these simple things. (wrenching my BMW is simpler!) I was hoping to not dig in so much. Are there gaskets required in the R&R?

Gotcha! I think I'll change my costume into elasto-man before attempting this. Simply replacing the oil filter requires blind fitment.

Trust me, I know. I am (was) a Marine Tech for many years. Just retired last year.

Trust you? I think most folks on here already do (myslef included); your replies cover nearly the entire right side of this forum's threads.
