how much does a '77 115hp straight 6 merc weigh??

hey guys... i have a 5mtr pride runabout that i've recently bought and my 115hp staright 6 merc seized on it's first run out.
I've found a 150hp suzuki at a really good price to replace my motor but one of my mates was concerned that the suzuki would be too heavy for my boat?
i know how much the suzuki weighs, i just need to kn ow how much my current motor weighs.
so does anyone know the weight of a late 70's 115hp straight 6 merc?

The inline sixes weigh in at 300 pounds. This is likely a hundred pounds lighter than the Suzuki.

wow, that's a huge difference!
i don't understand how it can be such a huge difference when the mercury is so much older which usually means heavier!?
they're both 6 cylinders.

Bexi, The old Merc is 99 Cu In, and in an inline, compact form. The Suzuki is a V-6 block with more like 125-158 Cu In. If you were to compare old and new motors of the same configuration and number of cylinders, the weights would be close.
