How much does Alpha 1 leg weigh?

Im just about to pull the leg off my boat. Its the Alpha 1 Gen 2 outdrive, and Ive got a mate who is going to help me but he is asking how much it weighs.

Ive told him that I dont know but Ive helped someone put one back on in the past and 2 can lift it quite easily.

Anyone know how much it does weigh though?

Right about 75 pounds, It not that bad at all, One avarage guy can do it by him self if needed. Do not for get to put it in forward gear and remove the speedo hose before lowering down drive and before removing the drive or you will damage the shiftng shaft at the bell housing area.


Edit, I looked it up for us It said 85lbs pounds for the alpha, And 151lbs for the bravo 3X drive, And 130lbs for the bravo 1X drive, And 137lbs for bravo 2 drive And all the none X drives where about 3lbs lighter on avarage. Here is the link to the info if needed.

Ayuh,... I once weighed an Alpha 1 by holding it as I stepped onto a bathroom scale,...
I came up with 80lbs...
Granted, it's a Handful, but managable by myself...

I reckon I can manage 80lbs on my own (maybe a tad less with the prop off and the oil drained out).

I just removed mine by myself. It's not too bad and you can probably support the weight on the skeg on a flat board as you slide it out, which is how I did it. Putting it back may be easier with a hoist.

Naw,... Jack up the Front of the Trailer,... Not Too high though...Ya don't even have to Lift the drive...

Man, you guys are lucky! A Bravo 3 with props weighs approximately 153lbs! I still remove it by myself, though, so an Alpha will be easy. But hey, if you got a boddy, use him, it will make it easier. And then ask him to be available agin when you put it back on, that's when you'll really need him!
