Hi everybody. I'm trying to make plans in advance of picking up my project boat. It is a 1969 Sea Star 17.5'. As near as I can tell it has been sitting outside with no cover
. I bought it for $150 including the trailer; so I'm planning for the worst. I figure it will need a new deck, transom and stringers. Due to family finances this will be a budget build. I am thinking I will use 5/8" ply for the deck and layered ply for the transom. I don't know what size the stringers are, but I'm planning on wrapped dimensional wood or plywood.
My question is this: How much poly and glass mat should I plan on using (ballpark - don't worry I won't hunt you down if you're off
)?
Are there any other products I should plan on for the interior? I'll worry about the exterior later.
Keep in mind that I'm a newbie.
You may need to translate. I've already been following several resto threads and learning a lot. Thanks to Micks110 and Oops, also Archbuilder.
Once I start work on the boat, I'll be starting my own thread. It makes me excited to think about.
Thanks to all in advance for your help.
