Bondo is right, if you like to get throttle happy, that alpha one won't last real long with 300+ HP. The real question is, can you be nice enough to that alpha one with 450 Hp?

what would need to be done, how much would it cost to make an alpha 1 hold up to 450HP 450TQ. I'm seriously considering taking my 383 fuely out of my camaro.

First of all, when you have a question, start a new thread. Your question will be lost tacked on to the end of a 2006 post.

To answer your questiion, it can't be done. With that HP, you go to a Bravo drive, and transom shield.

Ask a Merc dealer how much for a Bravo unit complete...

Replace it with a complete Bravo 1 for around $3000 if you are lucky.

Or just replace it every year, and keep your towing insurance paid up.

The Bravo will be cheaper than a new alpha annually
