Id like to give my engine a good treatment before I winterize her. What is considered a "Shock Treatment" for the amount of product to be used? Twice as much as the bottle recommends? Three times? I have a 130 Yamaha 2 stroke with about 250 hrs on it and have never done any type of decarbing. I have a 36 gallon fuel tank. Can anyone recommend the correct dosage for the shock? Thanks,Pat

I put seafoam in a squirt bottle and run it right thru the carb throats...I have a v4 and I will squirt a 12 oz bottle thru the carbs as it's running...one hand on linkage to keep it running and one a squirtin'. at the end of the bottle kill the motor and let sit for hour or so...Carbon turns to sludge and starts drooling out of exhaust...do it again...next day take to lake and run the hell out of her to blow the rest of sludge out and she's done. If I don't take it out and run it hard it keeps oozin'...just my Thoughts

Sea Foam is best in my book you can use it or you
can use Deep Creep witch is Sea Foam in a spray can to shoot through carbs. Best place to buy is at Napa auto parts stores. One can of Sea Foam says it treats around 28 gal's of gas. if you have a remote tank pour in one can to a gallon of
gas thats shock.

hello
If you are winterizing, then you need to be adding a good fuel stabilizer not ring free. Ring ree is what you should be adding to your gas every time you fill up.
Use sea foan deep creep spray, spray it into the carbs while the engine is running. I use a whole can into my 225, then remove the plugs, tilt the motor up a little and spray a generous amount in the cylinders and replace the plugs. let it soak for 12-24 hours, I have found 24 hrs to be better. then if you can take it out and run it under load that will really help to blow it out but if you are just winterizing then after 24 hrs run it until the heavy blue smoke dissipates, usually 15-20 mins then you can fog it and do the rest of what needs to be doen for normal winterization.
It was amazing how smooooooth my engine runs after soaking and decarbing with deep creep.
Bruce

OK>>>Deep Creep is from NAPA??? is it meant for car engines(my 1991-GMC could use it)????

I have NO N.A.P.A. near me. Where can I find the "SEA FOAM"???Is this an OMC or MERCURY product??? We didn't use decarb back when I ran this engine last (1980). I would think the engine has about 150hours on it at most>>>should I treat it???
Thanks in advance for your help.
;)

Repeated prolonged treatments should give better results than increasing the dosage. I use the spray through the carbs method.
