No more than a grand. Look on Craigslist and Boattrader and you'll find lots of running 18 footers in the $2,000 to $6,000 range depending on age and condition.

:eek:I bet if you looked around you could find a decent 18-20 footer with motor and trailer for under $3000.00. You will pay more than that for a motor, steering, transome and trailer.

My 2 cents worth.

It depends also where your located. Certain pontoons may be 5k where in some parts of the world they're only worth around 2k. It does look like a nice pontoon though and well taken care for. With that size of a pontoon you could settle for a 9.9 with controls and find one somewhere well under a grand. All in all I think $1500 would be a fair price.

well i have a 55 hp johnson that i plan to put on it, thanks for pointing out the transom ill have to see if he took it off or something. i have steering controls just dont know if they would be long enough for a pontoon, not sure what deck caps are id imagine they cover the corners of the deck lol, i live in central florida most 20 footers are going for 4-10 thousand and depending on the year and model. i just thought this one looked really clean for the price.

No more than $1,000 too much missing and no your controls must match the motor and the boat so there is no gaurantee they will work. The seats look like they have Mold so if they do they have not been recently redone. I think he has a project in motion he just never finished for some reason and is trying to unload it.

Well, right now a new 2011 Bass Buggy with a 20hp 4 stroke is $10K+ tax. Factory warranty, ready to hit the water. The 20hp OB adds $3K to the boats price, you can have them taken off. That's your top end comparison.

I'd take the cost of the used boat, add in the cost your fixes. Here in Cincy a new 9.9 4s is $1,933+ tax, it might be more or less where you are. Figure what it's going to cost you to get it in the water and then check used boat prices in your area. Then decide what your time is worth.

Some other questions. Has it been under cover or just sitting in the central Florida weather for the past few months? If so, those new seats aren't so new anymore. Does it need a new bimini too? How about cockpit controls, what shape are they in?

Man those pontoons seem really long aft, could the deck be lengthened and who is the manufacturer? :)

I'm thinking a grand at most which might be tough, I'm thinking the owner is trying to recover his money in it.

That looks like new furniture and the set on the Toon cost the PO more than a grand.. I am betting that the mold on the seat will come right off. The transome is an easy fix and the corner caps aren't bad.... If you already have controls that match up with you motor then (if the motor has to right length shaft) You may need to buy new cables, on the other hand that is a new console so you can always move it back to shorten the distance. I would say $1500 is a very fair price and with a little more money and some work you would have a nice boat.

thanks for posting those dude. iv seen one of those ill have to check into the other one. my only reason for wanting this boat is that i have a motor already, so why spend the extra getting another motor when you dont have to.

Re: how much is it worth???

I think in your situation those 2 wouldn't be really much of a better deal. If you already own a motor with matching controls then why pay a thousand dollars more. Once again it's all about what your wanting to do with the boat. If it's just you and your wife wanting to cruise around with maybe another couple you wont really need a huge boat. So why go for the bigger boats that will cost you more money. I agree with rrhodes that $1500 is a fair price to pay.

Is the motor long enough for a pontoon? Selling one of the OB's needs to go into the whole equation. 18', is that the length of the deck or the pontoons?

Re: how much is it worth???

Here are a couple of listings in your area that IMHO are a much better deal than what you are considering.

http://orlando.craigslist.org/boa/2329164444.html

http://orlando.craigslist.org/boa/2326263713.html

The second listing says "18ft pontoon boat with new carpet and new seats.bimini top is good.motor has just been serviced which is a 2 stroke 40hp mercury.it has a trailer with new lights and good tires."

The pics arn't all that good but the boat is indoors and what can be seen looks better. It appears to be ready for the water. Nice deal for $3K. The other listing has already been pulled.

I agree. Sell the motor, get a turn key for less money, save lots of work, and get on the water..

To much work, don't buy it. There are better deals out there for complete boats.
