A buddy backed onto a sand bar and sucked up a bunch of sand into his cooling system.
I dropped the lower too get all the sand out of it but there's no drain plug for the gear oil.
What's the proper way to fill the gear case back up?
And what model is this?

The engine did over heat some before it shut down (454 bb chev) and the port side exhaust manifold blew out.
I have the new gaskets and will be doing that tomorrow morning.
I've also removed the water pump to rebuild it and replace the seal between the water/fuel pump.
There was that wonderful grey sludge cumming out of the fuel pump vent.
Is there anything else that could have been damaged or plugged up that I'm over looking?
BTW, the engine itself is fine, compression and everything else was checked and all is normal.
Thanks,
PT

It's a bravo drive, You'll need to pull the prop to drain and fill the drive from the bottom drain plug behind the prop.

A note to Bt's picture above.

a is the drain plug for a Bravo 2
b is the drain plug for a Bravo 1

The drives do not have both at the same time.

this one has a low water pick up, right about where the drain plug normally would be.
I got more sand out of the exhaust manifold today... and replaced the gaskets that were blown out.

It's still a Bravo I, and the drain plug is under the prop.
