I am replacing my trim pump and putting a rebuild kit into one of the cylinders and need to know how to bleed the system when I get it all rewired and ready to test. No one has ever answerred one of my inquiries but I hope this one will be answerred. I have a Mercusier 233HP inboard outboard on a 18 foot starcraft.

The usual method is to fill the resevoir, cycle the unit a few times. Refill, cycle, refill....

The air will work its way around and the unit should start moving when the oil has forced the air out.

There may be other ways, but this worked on mine.

Let us know how it works.

Do I leave the fill screw off after I fill it and start moving the trim up and down, so the air can bleed out the fill hole?

There should be a fill and a vent screw, I replaced the fill but left the vent open.
I replaced 2 lines and bled it the way stated above.
Falker
