Hello,
The sending unit in my fuel tank went bad last season. I replaced it with a similar sending unit that looked to be about the same length. I was under the impression that it was working fine until I ran out of fuel at 1/4 tank reading. After filling the tank up time after time the gauge would not change.
How do I calibrate the sending unit to my gas tank? Would I be able to calibrate the current sender or is advised to get a new one?
My boat is a 1990 Chaparral 278 XLC with a 350 Mercruiser and Alpha 1 Gen 2 drive. Is there a chart anywhere that may have a pre-trimmed sending unit for this model boat? I suppose that would be too easy.
Any advise will be appreciated.
Thank you!
