How to chamfer ports after honing?...

I plan to try to learn how to hone on an old 125. I will try to overbore .030 with a Sunnen hone (not a spring-loaded one). When doing motorcycles, you had to chamfer the ports afterwards - just a little bit so you don't catch a ring. Anyone know what the recommended chamfering procedure is on outboards?

A moto tool or die grinder with a small dia abrasive stone will do the trick. If you fear a run away, then using a chainsaw file will work as well, just a tad slower. Then smooth out with a jewelers stone.

I don' worry about 'um. If the pistons stay pinned, you won't have a problem. If a pin comes out, it's gonna wreck anyway.

c/6

Hooty
