leparm,<br /><br />You will need to drop the lower unit. There are five (I believe) bolts that hold it up. Four (2 on each side) of the lower unit and one under the trim tab.<br /><br />You will also need to disconnect the shift linkage. If you look under the bottom carb. you'll see the linkage coming up through the lower pan. There is a bolt that holds the linkage rod to the shift linkage. It's tricky and tedious to get this bolt out. If you put the engine in reverse before disassembly, it makes it easier.<br /><br />I would strongly suggest you get a manual. They cost about $25.00. The OEM manuals are the best, Sea Loc and Clymers are OK.
