Was about to piggyback this onto another simular post...but decided against it. I run a 150 and 9.9 yamahas. 2 batteries - battery 2 is strictly for the 150. battery 1 (house) is for the 9.9 and all accessories. i have a perko switch 1/2/all/off. When leaving the dock i usually turn the perko to "all" and run out to fishing spot (20-30 min) turn off 150 and switch to #1 house and fire up the kicker/downriggers, ect. Is this the correct way to do this? I'm thinking by switching to #1 that I am potentially protecting #2 which would contain a charge and allow me to fire up the 150 if for some reason #1 ran out of "juice". Thoughts?

That's the intended use. Provided it is wired correctly, whatever switch setting is selected is the battery that is powering things and is being charged. If both are selected, both are powering everything and both are being charged.
