I have J115VXSIF - 60 deg looper. Recently replaced power pack. To check QuickStart the manual calls for placing the timing light on cyl #2. And that is true; there is no spark advance on cyl #1. However, there is intermittent spark advance on cyl #2. You get advanced spark for may be a second then it jumps back to normal operational spark then back to advanced and keeps doing that until QuickStart feature is timed out (5 seconds). Is it supposed to do that? If not, what can be causing that? BTW, when I test it I disconnect temperature sensor on port side.

Are you following all of the steps in the manual?

I disconnect temp sensor on the port side. Put the pickup of the timing light on the cyl #2 wire and then start the engine. Is there anything I'm missing?
