Hey guys, so I rented a dock for the season at the lake close to me. We used the boat allot more, it was really easy to just load up and go over for a couple of hours.

Anyway, I have tried to keep the hull clean while its been in the water, but it has allot of algae / nastiness growing on the bottom of it. Whats the best way to clean this stuff off before winterizing?

Also, should I treat the bunks on the trailer with anything before taking it out of the water? I assume that this grime might cause the boat to stick to the trailer a little.

Thanks!

Naw,... It ain't 'bout stickin' to the wagon,... It's more 'bout the hull stickin' to the Water, all summer...

If ya powerwash it, Right as it comes outa the water, it washes off, Reasonably easy...

If allowed to Dry,... a Sander is the best way to get it off....

Is there a Beach on this lake yer docked at,...

Run the boat in shallow, 'n brush the crud off, while yer swimmin'...

A stiff bristle brush will remove most of it, without puttin' soap into yer swimmin' waters...

In my own experience, for the stuff that has been really hard to remove, I used a hull cleaner based on Citric Acid. If you do it on the trailer make sure you use lots of water before and after to clean it. also use gloves... I know... cause I didn't... good luck
