How to clean out an outdrive, gear oil mixed with water

1995 Sea Ray SRV 300, Two 5.7 Mercruiser Gen+ with Alpha I outdrives

You find water in the outdrive gear oil, the leak has been repaired. Is there a procedure for cleaning the outdrive prior to filling with gear oil? I've heard when water gets in the engine block, you pickle it with diesel fuel. Is there a similar method with outdrives?

Nope,.... Just drain it, dry, then refill it with oil....
