I have a 1988 bass tracker fiberglass. The silver with the flakes cleaned up really nice. Below that the hull is white, and there is a red decal on the side that is all oxidated/faded. I tried the same stuff that cleaned up the oxidation on the silver flake, and didnt work. Its the mequires oxidation remover. I used a buffer, and at 1st it looks great, then fades within seconds and back to normal. Is there a heavier duty stuff to use? It doesnt seem there is gel coat, or as much on the sides. Just want to get the faded white shiny again. It looks weird as the top of the boat looks like new, and the sides and bottom look like its 20 years old. ;)

Hrm, I thought all Bass Trackers were aluminum with Nitro being their Fiberglass bass boat product line.

It's just thirsty. Keep applying coats.

I would use 2 or 3 coats of the Meguiar's Pure Wax or Premium Flagship Wax if you have it. It may just need a good coat of wax to build up on there. Try a 1' X 1' area to see if it works before doing the whole boat. You did the right thing by using Meguiar's. ;) I swear by their products, and they are the only ones I'll use on my '95 Skeeter. A little goes a long way with their products.

Im going to get polish this weekend, and some good wax. I always used meguiars on my cars and it works wonders, so figured it would be the same for boats. I may try going over the whole boat with the oxidation remover, and then the polish, and then the wax and see what happens. Maybe a few coats of wax. The guy i got the boat from said he used some sort of aircraft wax on the very bottom, and its still nice and shiny.
