i have a 1985 bayliner with a vp270 od and a aq125a engine. I recently replaced the interior/carpet.. when removing the throttle/gear contol from the interior I broke the micro switch (nuetral safety, which i had to replace)..
any way when reinstalling the controls, i must of moved the shifting arms controling the forward reverse settings. It took me a while to realign the spline shaft on the control to seemingly get it correct again. My question is.. When I have the boat on the trailer, and the control in the fwd position,, the prop will rotate freely in the counter clockwise direction, and cannot be moved clockwise.. this is vs a versa when in reverse.

The prop is a counter clockwise rotation.. so this seems to be reversed, as i would expect not to be able to move the prop in the counterclock wise position when in fwd (as i would believe i would be turning the engine.. I guess i could start the engine to see if it is correct, but is there a way to be 180 degrees off ? I think the cables would prevent this, but at this point I'm a little confused..
thanks....
