How to determine pitch?

How do I determine a props pitch? All that is stamped into this cupped 4 blade is "Meade" and "13x1 ". There is a straight line at top of place where 4th number should be, indicating 5? 7? Owner says it's a 5, but how do I find out for sure? Also, anyone know what Meade is? I assumed manufacturer, but can't find anything online. Thanks

best to take it to a prop shop.If you can tell us what boat and motor its on
and the max rpm and speed we may be able to tell if it makes sense.

Bought it off Craigslist. Took it to local prop shop. I am told it was cupped aftermarket so that did give it a 15" pitch. However, one of the blades is slightly bent (not to naked eye but to machine). This could slow down top end speed a few % at best; at worst, will cause vibrations and be worthless. No way to know but to get it hubbed and try it out!!! Luckily, didn't pay too much for it. Thanks for help.

Hold on southtexas. Don't even think about trying to put a bend prop on your motor. All you're asking for is trouble on down the line. All those pesky vibrations will eventually wear out something that you don't want or need to wear out. It may not be noticeable at the helm but sure as hell it's raising havoc down below. That's my $.02

That prop shop should be able to fix it when they rehub it.

OK, update. I spoke to the guy who sold it to me. He is being very cool and honest; he said to test it out and if I don't like anything about it, we can work out a deal. He won't cash my check until we figure it out. Good to know there are still people like that in the world these days...
