I'm looking to buy a 1987 evinrude 90hp. I want to make sure it fits on my boat before driving to see it in person. How do I measure my motor and the other guys motor to determine if it is short shaft or long shaft?

Re: how to determine shaft size

Measure from the top of your transom to the bottom.----Likely be around 20" and that is considered long shaft.
