I have a 92 model Evinrude XP200 on a 91 Astro Quickfire 19FS. The boat measures a little over 20 foot long. I plan on getting a jackplate but I really have no idea on how to pick the right set back size. I see 5,6,8 inch set backs and they go on and on. Can some one steer me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance.

I think I would be looking at a Bob's machine jackplate. The 5" model can be used at 5 or about 3, but I'm not sure that's enough on that long boat. I don't think you would go wrong at the 6-8" range.. I'm running a "Bob's" 5 with 2" spacers with the same engine on an 18ft alum, so it may need a bit more on yours, but each hull style is different.
Actually, Dhadley would be the best to answer this...

I'm not sure I'm the best one to answer but I'll try...

A lot depends on your balance now. If you need more bow lift, get more setback. But like Kenny said, you can use the 2" spacers also. I have a 10" on my Dusky but its a tank.

One good thing about it, if you get one and ever decide to sell it, it wont last a week.
