How to empty a Waterbed

This past weekend I setup a waterbed from my sister. 2 single mattresses, filled em up to find out the baffle is long gone and it is a free-flow mattress. (new waveless ordered)<br /><br />Trying to get a siphon going, hoses over the deck with 6' of drop. Old pieces of baffle keept getting cought in the hose, clear the obstruction and go re-start the siphon.... getting VERY tired of this, and I have no inline pump to use.<br /><br />So, 2 SHORT pieces of hose to a bucket at the foot of the bed with a bilge pump did the trick, I could watch the hoses and if one started to slow, I could jiggle the other end to clear the baffle getting in the way.<br /><br /><br />

Thats a technique. I had a waterbed, and after growing weary of dealing with it, a kingsize mattress set replaced the waterbed mattress. Now I have the convenience of all those drawers and no more water...

Last waterbed I had, my dad shot it. About 20 some years ago, my dad got into a little agruement with someone in the basement of our home. My bedroom was down there that was were they were talking. <br />After a lengthly discussion a shot went off and luckily the waterbed took the brunt of the bullet and not the fellow arguing with my dad. <br />Needless to say, water everywhere and it was replaced with a queen size matress.<br />Moral: guns and waterbeds don't mix.

same pump I use for emptying the kidy pool when it needs cleaning.
