how to fix a broken clamp?

I have what I believe to be a '76 9.9 outboard. One of the clamps is bent or something because I broke the handle off trying to turn it and then I used a pipe wrench to turn it. Now that it is coming out the back side (tightening) it appears to be stripping.

Should I cut the end off and then back it out? I( have a feeling that I will end up needing to re thread the hole when it comes out. Will I be able to find a replacement clamp for it that is slightly bigger? Is there a better way to go about fixing this? Should I just try to find a replacement for the whole mounting bracket?

You could keep your eye out for an entire transom clamp assembly on fleabay or order replacement parts.

377311 is the clampscrew
307561 is the swivel plate
302420 is the plate retainer

Wow, this forum moves quick!
I tried googling the part number for the clamp screw and doing a search under iboats johnson parts and did not find it. Could you tell me please how you came to know these part numbers and where to possibly find them?
Thanks very much and Happy Thanksgiving!

Shop2.evinrude.com, your year and model under exhaust housing, part # 46.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, although I had my turkey last month!

I've never seen "shop2.evinrude.com" ... is that a typo? I tried it in my browser and didn't get anything. That said, "shop.evinrude.com" does work.

Not nitpicking - just wondering if there is a mirror site that I don't know about.

To the OP - if you need parts that are not available right here at iboats, you might also want to try www.sea-way.com. They are the largest supplier of OMC NOS in N. America.

I just tried the link, above - it worked and its that same site as the one without the "2." The difference is that the "2 version" goes directly to the parts listings.

Ok, I found the part and am also looking into other options since it is 30 bucks just for the screw clamp. Thanks for the help as always!
