How to flush my engine

I’ve got a new to me 4.3 liter inboard. I’ve researched but haven’t found anything like what I have. I circled the fitting in the pic. Most posts I’ve found have some sort of valve to open and close. The only thing I can find on my engine it this garden hose type fitting. Is this where I should hook up a garden hose and flush after being in salt water? Thanks

Should be a hose on the starboard side with a blue cap on it. That's where you hook up the hose to flush the engine. What year and model motor do you have ?

It’s a 2000 GM Marine Power motor.

I don't think the 2000 era had the blue flush port. I don't think that came about until 2006 or so. If you want to flush you might have to use muffs or purchase the retro kit.
