When you get the rebuilding kit, recommend you get 2 items that are not included but should be. One is called a spacer, is a fat plastic washer that often breaks when you try to remove it. Other part is called a COLLAR, which fits over the spacer. Sometimes it slides off, other times it becomes damaged. Have the new parts and save yourself some time and aggrivation. Parts man will know what you are talking about.
When you are putting the pump back together, take care that the stainless steel cup does not become un indexed from the pump housing. Cup will rotate blocking off part of the pump outlet, causing overheats at higher RPM. FRED
