float it off, push it off, or lift it off.
Lower the front and block up the rear.
Then raise the front and block it up. Then lower the front halfway, and pull the trailer out.

To take the engine off, you're gonna need a hoist of some sort - be it a tractor arm, a rope and pulleys over a tree limb, or whatever.

Then tie the boat and pull the trailer out from under. Use a few tires as cushions for the hull.

Offering a few beers around might help.

Are you planning to put it back on at some point or are you junking the boat?

Re: how to get boat off trailer

I haven't tried this, (and probably won't!) but a man I know who has owned a boat for some 50+ years now, ties a rope to the bow, and another to his bumper. He backs up and considerable speed and breaks at a certain point, in which the boat floats off into the water by itself. It doesn't get far, but he'll drive back up a bit, take the rope off his truck and ties it to the dock. Then drives off and parks. He started this method due to him going off alone all the time, but it sounds like one day if he has too much force, the rope could snap or he could hurt the boat.

Why does he back up fast? That doesnt make much sense. Lots of folks do that but all ya gotta do is back up slowly and when it floats, pull out - slowly - a bit.

I'd like to be there to see the look on his face when -- like you mentioned -- the rope pops.

Like Dhadley said I would like to see the look on his face when the rope snap.

I have gotten very proficient at unloading the boat by myself also. I tied the rope to the bow eye and then to the trailer winch. Once the boat starts floating I pull out enough to get the rope without getting wet. And yes I do it slowly.
