How to get rid of old fogging oil in 6 gallon gas tank?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post. I have two older, metal 6 gallon gas tanks. Previous owner put fogging oil into them for long term storage. What should I do to the tanks so I can safely use them again without fouling up my carbs or something? Thanks for any advice.

Dump it out as much as you can, sop up what you can, and fill it with fresh gas/oil mix. That little bit of oil remaining in there won't hurt anything as it mixes with the gas and is burned.

F R is right. Just expect to see a little extra smoke as it burns off the reamining fogging oil but it certainly won't hurt anything.

He didn't actually fill the tanks with fogging oil did he? I would assume he just sprayed fogging oil into the cans to coat the inner surfaces? If so, if it were me, I'd just fill with fresh premix fuel and use it. If you think there's actually "too much" fogging oil residue, put a quart or so of clean gasoline in there, swish it around to dissolve the fogging oil, and then dump it appropriately (I'd probably put it in my pickup truck fuel tank and top off - it would be diluted with 20+ gallons). But, I can't imagine option one would cause any problems.
