There is also one in which a pre-paid funeral service calls and Tom pretends to commit suicide. Revenge of the tele-marketer.

I use this one,When telemarketers call(on the cell phone) most of them know I am a paint contractor so I say that I am on a large ladder and then they start their pitch when I think they are about done I remind them about that large ladder and I pretend to fall and holler, "OH CRA------" and drop the phone, and they hear dead silence.

Usually, I'm removed from their list, but a few have called back to see if I was okay, but we leave 'em hanging and don't answer the phone.

(No cellphones are harmed during this exercise.)

I live large, fell large (2nd run from the top) fall does not hurt it is that sudden stop. I remember I told the medical team that help me that I had a PHD-------Painting Houses Daily they got a chuckle

I let the answering machine get it. Of course when my message comes on,,,,,,its the recording of the lady announcing the number has been disconnected without a forwarding number. The number of calls have been reduced a lot.

I've used two other ploys.

When they ask for (x), I give a couple minutes of silence, a couple sobs, then in an almost angry voice, "Is this some kind of a cruel joke? His (her) services were last week."

Or, I say "He (She) is in the bacl yard. I'll go get him (her) for you." Then set the phone doen, and about 1/2 hour late come back and hang it up.

I just start speaking to them in Russian, which I learned while in the USAF. Generally, they never call back.

Couple of thing I like to d .
When they pause to see if you are still there and don't ask a question don't say anything until they ask a question.
OR just keep saying hello even when they say hello. Pretend you can't hear them.

that one would be a great home video. that's awesome. keeps the kid busy, teaches public speaking, (not that 3 yr olds are shy) enunciation etc and keeps the telemarketer busy as well. very nice.

If they are female I ask them what kind and color of underware they are wearing. If they are male I ask them to repeat their sales pitch over and over again. I work nights so you can imagine how much I apreciate those mid-day phone calls.

With all the the electronic tricks they do with telephones today, one would think you could set your phone to reject all calls origenating outside the country.

Up here in Canada we just implemented a "do not call registry". If you register it is illegal for most telemarketers to call you.

We have that in the US, but they still call.

Now they just spoof the caller ID so it's more difficult to report them.

Political parties.

I always ask what they're wearing, Question they're sexuality? When they get upset...they WILL get upset...remind them they called me. Ask if they're kinky, Just keep along those lines. My wife and 21 year old daughter laugh till they're crying. I DO NOT DO THIS WITH MY 4 YEAR OLD AROUND!!!! He's picked up enough bad habits......but I like the previous post idea of letting him talk to the telemarketer....LMAO
