Ok again about the 2 horse johnson. I got the torque bolt bolt off but what else do i need to take off the get the metal cover over the coils off. Thanks
Thread the nut back on flush, when the flywheel lets go you might eat it because they often let go like a shotgun blast.
See the 3 holes in the flywheel?
buy a steering wheel /harmonic balancer puller and get hardened bolts from the bardware store, put it under tension and tap the puller bolt or use an impact driver, leave it under tension, sometimes it takes a while to pop loose.
You need what is known as a "harmonic balancer puller". It bolts onto the flywheel with three grade 8 bolts ... that's what the three threaded holes are for!
If you use a steering wheel puller it must be the type that bolts onto all three of those holes.
watch out for the key between the flywheel centre and the shaft when you remove it
