I got some good information on helping me with an electrical problem I had with my 75hp Mariner (1987) but perhaps someone can also suggest a method for removing from the boat too. I've always been able to do this with the evinrudes by using the hook they have mounted at the top of the motor but for some reason they don't have something like this for the Mariners.

Any suggestions?

You need a lifting eye that screws into the large threaded hole in the center of the flywheel where the flywheel nut is also located. You can get them on ebay or from several aftermarket stores. I got my from Bob's machine shop. Lifting Eye is the correct search term.

Can I have one made? What is the threading for the bolt?

I think they are fairly cheap. Probably cheaper than having someone make it. I am sure there are a few online sources.
